Yellowstone Trout Scout Outfitters is located in Livingston, Montana with the Yellowstone River right in our backyard. The fishing opportunities are endless with over 100 miles of the Yellowstone River and its tributaries. Three world famous Spring Creeks, DePuy's, Armstrong's and Nelsons, as well as Yellowstone National Park are all within a one hour drive. We also offer fishing on the Madison and Missouri Rivers, which are within three hours.
McKenzie style drift boats are used for all of our float trips. These boats are not only designed for fly fishing, but for comfort as well. Fishing the rivers from a drift boat is usually the most productive because you are able to cover 10 - 15 miles in a single day. On a typical day we will meet at 8:00 a.m. hit the river or creek, drift and wade into several hot spots. After a morning of fishing we are sure you will have worked up an appetite. We will pull into a scenic spot on the riverbank for a gourmet lunch which will be prepared by your guide. You will have a chance to relax and enjoy the spectacular views. We often grill various types of game, which seems to be a client favorite, but if you have a special request or dietary restriction for your lunch, let us know and we would be happy to accommodate you. After lunch, we will continue our day of fishing. Our guides are not restricted to time, say 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This is your day and the guides are happy to stay out as late as you wish.
Our guides have well over 1,000 days of experience collectively on the waters we fish. It does not matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned angler, or have kids that want to enjoy a fly fishing experience, all of our guides are very patient and knowledgeable teachers and look forward to helping with individual needs. All instruction is free with a booked trip. As a guide there is nothing more rewarding than having a client catch their first fish and have a smile on their face all day.
Our goal is to accommodate you, the customer, and to create an outdoor adventure that will never be forgotten. It does not matter if you are a party of one or 21, if you are interested in one day or one week, we can customize the trip any way you want. We offer a lot of options.
