 Montana
is a veritable wing shooters paradise. Its rolling prairies abundant
national forests, wild streams and rivers provide a myriad of gunning
opportunities for the shooting enthusiast. The combination of vast
tracts of land and few people equates to minimal hunting pressure
and allows Montana to boast a healthy bird population.
Yellowstone
TroutScout Outfitters, through Garry McCutcheon Outfitter, offers
bird hunting trips for pheasants, sharptail grouse, Hungarian partridge,
blue and ruffed grouse, ducks and geese.
 We
are located in Livingston / Emigrant,
Montana and surrounded by the beautiful paradise valley which
is flanked by the Absaroka, and Beartooth Mountain range to the
east and the Gallatin Range to the west.
Yellowstone
TroutScout offers a variety of bird hunting trips throughout the
Big Sky State. We have developed relationships with many ranchers
in Montana and are lucky enough to be able to hunt on private land.
This equates to less hunting pressure. Let us know of your preferred
species so that we may be able to put together the perfect trip
for you.
All
of our bird hunts are for a 2 day minimum. Our pheasant hunts take
place on a private ranch about 2 1/2 hours from Livingston. The
terrain is ideal for such hunts with over 6,000 acres of CRP Brush
filled creek bottoms and rugged coulees. For the most part, the
terrain is very easy to walk. The ranch holds a number of trophy
pheasant. There are also Hungarian partridge and sharp tail grouse.
 Cast
and Blas t, a combination of fly-fishing and water fowl hunting
trips are also offered. This hunt takes place on the Yellowstone
River with its many gravel bars, side channels and spring creeks.
The Yellowstone River is located in the Pacific fly which is considered
a strong hold for migratory water fowl. The cast and blast has been
a client favorite for years because they have an opportunity to
cast to pre-spawning browns, rainbows and cutthroat combined with
shooting ducks and geese. In the event that we must access private
land for our hunts, a user fee is required.
